It Feels Like Spring

We have been enjoying the spring like weather here the last couple of days.  It helps to make up for the rain coming down sideways last week!  We took advantage of the nice day and planted 24 colorful primroses around the house and happened to catch some snow drops and crocus in bloom also.  We hear that the rain is coming back the end of the week, but we don't mind.  We will be warm and cozy inside.

We have been back from our new year adventure for a couple of weeks now and are beginning to sort of get back to normal.  Pocket Edward took us on a fine tour of New Orleans, Montgomery and the Mobile areas.  We really enjoyed the southern hospitality and cuisine.  We were hoping for a little more sunshine and warmer weather, but we survived.

We attended a national B&B conference in New Orleans, met some new friends, tried lots of restaurants, visited museums and plantations and even learned some things at our conference.  All in all it was a good time.

Once we got back to the inn, we took down the Christmas decorations and are now all set for Valentine's Day.  We still have availability on February 13 and 15 and limited availability on February 14.  Hope to see you.

Happy Valentine's Day and Presidents' Day Weekend!

Love is in the air at the Miller Tree Inn.  We have had many lovely Valentine guests this weekend enjoying our wet and windy weather.  It may be wet outside, but inside is warm and cozy!  Blarney has been busy keeping the guests company and trying to share his time with anyone willing to give him a pet or a scratch behind the ear.

Yesterday we put away all of the Valentine Decorations and got out the St. Patrick's Day items. We have been wondering if any of the Cullen family or the other Twilight characters have a little Irish in them? Regardless, we are ready for St. Patrick. Everything is green inside, but outside, we are still getting a little sleet, rain and mixed snow and rain.

There are still rooms available for Valentine's Day. The Cullen's won't be home, so there will be plenty of room. They are currently all out searching for the perfect valentines for their sweethearts!

It is February 1 and we are all decorated for Valentine's Day. We still have rooms available for the President's Day weekend which includes Valentine's Day on Sunday, February 14. Wonder what the Cullen Family will be up to?

Happy 2010! The 12 days of Christmas are officially over and the Christmas decorations are coming down at the Cullen House. Valentine decorations are taking their place.

The Miller Tree Inn, innkeepers, Bill and Susan took a little holiday trip to see family. On their way to Idaho, they stopped at the View Point Inn. The View Point Inn is the site where the prom scenes were filmed for the Twilight movie. It is a beautiful spot with great views of the Columbia River.

On the way back from Idaho, Bill and Susan stopped for breakfast at The Carver Cafe, which is the place where Bella and her Dad eat in the Twilight movie and where Stephenie Meyer makes her cameo appearance. It was a fun experience and we recommend it to Twilight fans.

The Elk Are Back!

The elk must have known that the bright sunshine would drive the Cullen family away, as they were across the street this morning munching on the grass at the Forks Community Center. Edward and the rest of the Cullen's have gone in search of the perfect Valentine for each of their sweethearts. Isn't it romantic?

Edward Gives a Valentine Wreath to the Visitor's Center

Edward stopped in at the Visitor's Center in Forks to give the manager a heart shaped wreath to attach to Bella's truck. He thought it would be a great Valentine for Bella.

The Valentine decorations are up at the Miller Tree Inn (Cullen House) and Edward has made some Valentines. They are available to our overnight "Twilight" guests and they are also available at the front door of the inn for $2.25 each.
