Merry Christmas and Happy 2018

We are all decked out and ready for Christmas here at the Miller Tree Inn.  If you find yourself traveling through Forks over the holidays, we may just have a room available for you!

2017 has been a great year for us with lots of changes.  We have had to say goodbye to some of our staff and welcome new people with open arms.  We have tried new breakfast recipes, replaced worn items, cleaned, painted, rearranged and moved.  One thing that hasn't changed over our nearly 20 years as innkeepers is all the wonderful guests that have passed through our doors.  We are grateful for being the lodging choice for so many and we are thankful for the friendship and fellowship that we have shared during the time that each guest was here at the Miller Tree Inn.

May you all have a blessed Christmas and we hope that 2018 is your best year, yet.

Christmas 2017 Kick-off at the Miller Tree Inn

The Christmas season has official begun at the Miller Tree Inn. Decorations are slowly migrating out of their hiding places, Christmas CD's will start playing at breakfast tomorrow and Egg Nog French Toast will soon be on the menu.
Our community of Forks will be kicking off the feastive season this weekend. Friday will be Cherish the Children, an annual fund raising event to help make Christmas merrier for children in LaPush and Forks. There will be dinner and auctions ite...ms available. Saturday is the Twinkle Light Parade, Tree Lighting and Moonlight Madness. Local stores will be open later than normal, community organizations will be out selling their wares on the streets of Forks and local restaurants will be having specials.

At the inn, we have a steady supply of hot coffee, tea, cocoa, cider and cookies to warm you up after taking in the outdoor events. Enjoy them in our common areas or take them up to your room and sit in front of your fireplace while preparing your whirlpool tub. Fireplace and whirlpool rooms are still available this weekend.

Thanks for Another Great Year

The end of 2016 is just around the corner and this means our 100 year anniversary is also drawing to a close. We have just drawn the last name for our quarterly drawing and informed the winner. 12 different local charitable organizations have benefited from our year long celebration and our guests have been incredibly supportive. Thank you to all who have participated! We also wish to thank all of the wonderful guests we have hosted this past year. You are what makes innkeeping so rewarding. The stockings are hung, the Christmas tree is in place and the rooms are ready.  It must be time for a visit to Forks and a stay at the Miller Tree Inn.

Moira is waiting impatiently behind the tree, and pulling at the ornaments.  We need some guests to distract her and keep her from getting into trouble.

If you haven't been with us over the winter holidays before, please make some time to come on over.  It is quiet and stress free and the ocean waves at the beach and the moss laden trees at the rainforest await you.

Merry Christmas 2015

Yesterday afternoon the Miller Tree Inn was filled with life, laughter and friendly competition, as our current and former housekeepers and innsitters gathered for a Christmas Party. 

The party was organized, planned and hosted by 2 of our "girls".  We think that everyone had a good time, gauging by all the talking, laughing and gingerbread house making that went on in our dining room!

It fills us with warmth to see our most special young women stop by year after year to say hello and catch us up on their lives.  In the 17 years we have had the inn, we have had an incredible number of beautiful, smart and talented young women work for us.  We are truly blessed that they have let us share a little bit of their lives and it has been wonderful to see them grow up.

2015 was a good year for the Miller Tree Inn.  We continue to have the best guests in the world and we thank each one who stayed with us.  All of our guests enrich our lives in some way and we are lucky.

In 2016, the building that is the Miller Tree Inn will be 100 years old.  We are going to have a year long celebration starting with an Open House and 100th birthday party on January 13.  We will be blogging about things as they come up, so follow along with us in wishing this grand old house a "Happy 100th!"

Another year is winding down and we are happy to see it has been a good one.  We continue to have wonderful guests come and see us from all over the country and all over the world.  We can happily say that we are often blessed by our guests and are rewarded with meeting some lovely people.  We are grateful for the opportunity to share our home and our beautiful area with appreciative travelers and look forward to meeting new friends in 2015.

Moira, though often a naughty kitten, makes us laugh on a daily basis.  She truly loves to be around people and will play until she drops.  She is quite the beggar, so we have to remove her from area at breakfast time.  She goes willingly and is equally willing to return when breakfast is over.

White Christmas?

We had some white stuff fall last night.  Not too much, but enough to cancel school and make Pocket Edward want to go out and explore.  He says it is easier to track game!

December in Forks!

The Cherish our Children dinner and auction was a huge success this weekend and our guests enjoyed the Twinkle Light Parade and Moonlight Madness last night.

Here at the Miller Tree Inn, we have most of our Christmas decorations up.  The tree we will be buying at the Festival of Trees next Sunday.  The beautifully decorated trees will be up for viewing at the Congregational Church next Saturday and Sunday.  There will be music and Christmas cookies available while you look at the trees.  Then on Sunday at 1PM, the tree auction begins.  Come on over, stay with us and enjoy the trees next weekend.  You can let us know which tree you think we should buy.

This year we added one more Christmas stocking to the fireplace.  Who do you think we added?

Christmas Season Kick-Off in Forks

The Miller Tree Inn has some specials going this week.  Check out the last minute specials page on our website.  Also, Saturday, December 1, the Forks Merchants put on their annual Moonlight Madness event.  Every store will be open from 7 - 11PM and have lots of sales going on.  The restaurants in town usually offer specials that evening and the events are kicked off by the small, but fun Twinkle Light Parade.  We will be starting to get out our Christmas decorations at the Miller Tree Inn, and have rooms still available, so come on over and join us!

If you are coming to the area on Friday night, November 30, be sure to check out the Cherish the Children event.  This event is sponsored by Forks and the Quielute Tribe to raise money for needy the Christmas needs of needy children in both Forks and LaPush.  There will be a wonderful seafood feast and silent auction.

Happy 2010! The 12 days of Christmas are officially over and the Christmas decorations are coming down at the Cullen House. Valentine decorations are taking their place.

The Miller Tree Inn, innkeepers, Bill and Susan took a little holiday trip to see family. On their way to Idaho, they stopped at the View Point Inn. The View Point Inn is the site where the prom scenes were filmed for the Twilight movie. It is a beautiful spot with great views of the Columbia River.

On the way back from Idaho, Bill and Susan stopped for breakfast at The Carver Cafe, which is the place where Bella and her Dad eat in the Twilight movie and where Stephenie Meyer makes her cameo appearance. It was a fun experience and we recommend it to Twilight fans.

It is the Cullen family's favorite day of the year, the first day of winter and the shortest day of the year!

The Cullen's took off last night on an extended holiday. They are visiting other covens around the world, this Christmas. They would like to wish all of their fans a very Merry Christmas and a Happy 2010.

In the meantime, Tunny, the Cullen House cat is keeping a watchful eye out the front window. He thinks he heard the faint sound of jingle bells and knows that Santa is on his way!

Christmas Time at the Cullen House

December is here and we have been decorating for the Christmas season. The stockings are up and most of the inside decorations have appeared.

There are many things happening in Forks and LaPush this weekend. Tomorrow, December 4 is the annual "Cherish the Children" fundraiser at the Tribal Center in LaPush. This fundraiser is a joint effort between LaPush and Forks to raise money so that children in both communities can have a happier Christmas. It will begin at 5PM with a seafood dinner and there will be both a live and silent auction and perhaps a visit from Santa Clause.

On Saturday, December 5, the Forks Soroptomist's will host their annual "Festival of Trees" at the Bank of America building. The trees may be viewed during the day on Saturday and then will be auctioned off on Sunday afternoon. We are hoping to get a tree for the Cullen House at this auction.

Saturday night at 6:30PM will be the annual "Twinkle Light Parade" sponsored by JT's Sweetstuffs. It is a short parade filled with lots of good humor and holiday spirit. It is also the kick-off for the West End Business Association's "Moonlight Madness." All the downtown stores and restaurants will have specials and sales from 7PM - 11PM.

It's still snowing!

Merry day after Christmas! At this minute, it is still snowing in Forks. It is supposed to turn to rain later today and tomorrow, but it is snowing right now!

We took the day off from shoveling snow yesterday, so Edward has been helping the innkeeper shovel the driveway and walkways today. Edward's superior strength and speed make the task go so much quicker! He looks so handsome in his leather jacket, too.
