A couple of years ago the former Dazzled by Twilight store burned to the ground. The fire was caused by an electrical problem in the building that housed the arts center, next door. The city of Forks has gone through a series of planning meetings and the members of the arts community purchased the land that the Dazzled by Twilight store had been on. That gave the city two lots on which to build the new arts center. Ground breaking was held this spring and we are now beginning to see the building start taking shape. The foundation has been poured as can be seen in this picture taken a couple of weeks ago. They are now working on the framing for the walls. We hope to post progress pictures in the next couple of months. If all goes well, the building should be complete by next spring. It will be a great addition to our community.

Twilight Guests From Which Country?

Monday, March 21, 2011
We had guests from the country represented by this flag. What country were they from?
The Quillayute Valley Scholarship Auction wrapped up another successful year last night. We are told that they raised $60, 000 for scholarships for this year's graduating class as well as other continuing college students that had previously graduated from Forks High School.
Pocket Edward is leaving this Wednesday afternoon, March 23 to go on a short Pacific Northwest vacation. Come back to this blog later in the week to see where Pocket Edward has gone.

Leah Clearwater to be in LaPush Tonight
December 3, 2010
We just learned that the actress that plays Leah Clearwater is to be in LaPush for the Cherish the Children Fundraiser tonight. She will be signing autographs and pictures to raise money for this benefit. The Cherish the Children event is annual event that features a seafood dinner, silent auction and live auction. It is a cooperative fundraiser between LaPush and Forks to raise money to meet the needs of children during the holiday season. This would be a great event to help kick off the Eclipse release party scheduled by Dazzled by Twilight later in the evening.
Tomorrow evening, December 4, the fun continues with The Festival of Trees viewing at the Bank of America Building, the Twinkle Light Parade and Moonlight Madness where all the stores and merchants will have special sales from 7 - 10PM. Come join us! We still have rooms for both Friday and Saturday nights. To make reservations on line, click on Miller Tree Inn .

The Hillywood Actors
Monday, August 9, 2010
Forks was blessed to have the Hillywood Actors here over the weekend doing an event for Dazzled by Twilight. They were also doing some filming for their next "Twilight" take off. We will let you know as soon as it is up on the internet. Having them around the house gave fans and our guests a thrill.

New Moon DVD Release Weekend in Review
Monday, March 22, 2010
All New Moon DVD release events were fun and well attended. Be sure to get the companion DVD of Twilight in Forks-saga of the real town. One of your innkeepers is interviewed!
The QVSD scholarship auction was well attended and successful. One of your innkeepers is on the committee and has said that about $69,000 was raised for our Forks High School graduates to be given in scholarships. We salute the town of Forks and everyone that purchased or donated items to this worthy cause.

Edward Goes to Lake Crescent to Unwind

March 20, 2010
Pocket Edward was feeling the stress of the media attention, so decided to go to Lake Crescent to unwind this week. Lake Crescent is a beautiful lake about 45 minutes from Forks. In the summer you can rent row boats and paddle across the lake.
Everyone enjoyed the Vampire Ball at the Twilight Lounge last night and it looked like Dazzled by Twilight Tours were filled today. Many fans took part in Twilight Central's scavenger hunt. It was a great day in Forks for fans.
This weekend is also the annual scholarship auction that raises money for scholarships for anyone that graduates from Forks High School. We understand that they had some autographed pictures of Rob Pattinson and Kristen Stewart up for auction. The auction continues tomorrow from 10AM - 8PM at the Bank of America building on Forks Ave.

Sunny in Forks

Saturday, January 16, 2010
The weather forecasts were wrong. It is sunny in Forks today. Not so good for vampire sitings, but nice for us mere mortals who hate getting soggy!
Also, we were visited by a new tour company today. "Team Forks" has started doing tours on the weekends. They don't take reservations, you just show up at the Forks Outfitters parking lot. They plan on doing 3 tours a day on the weekends.
The Dazzled by Twilight Tours are still going strong and strongly recommend reservations to make sure that you get on the tour you want. Don't forget to stop in their store for a real Twilight experience.
AND there is a new photographer in town that is specializing in destination photography. You can have engagement, wedding, family reunion, pregnancy, girls weekend, Twilight birthday, etc, shots taken at the beach, rain forest, etc. Check out her website at: www.cherylbarthfineart.com
Now, come on over and enjoy the sunshine in January! We still have rooms available this weekend.

Twilight Symposium
June 29, 2009
The Twilight Symposium ended yesterday. Our guests that attended seemed to have a good time and are hoping to come back next year if there is another one.
After the symposium, the Hillywood actors came over to the Miller Tree Inn (also known as the Cullen House) and did interviews for a documentary. They also used the Inn and grounds for some photo opportunities. While the actors were at the Inn, the Dazzled by Twilight Tour came by. Imagine how thrilled the tour participants were to see the Hillywood actors dressed up as Edward, Bella, Jasper and Alice! Everyone was very excited and we all had a great time. As you can imagine, many pictures were taken!

Have a FORKS-tastic Weekend!
March 20, 2009
It is a BIG weekend here in Forks. Tonight, our local merchants are staying open until 10PM and most have brought in special merchandise in honor of the Twilight DVD release. Then at 10PM, the party starts at the Rainforest Arts Center. It will be decorated to look like the ballet studio in the Twilight movie. It is reported that there will be drawings, games, food, contests AND a special Forks Edition DVD to be handed out at midnight! Don't miss this party sponsored by Dazzled by Twilight.
On Saturday, Leppell's Flowers and Gifts (Twilight Central) is sponsoring a special Twilight Scavenger hunt. The sign up is Saturday morning at Leppell's. Should be really fun and sounds like great prizes, too.
Also on Saturday and Sunday are two annual Forks events. There is a memorial Basketball Tournament that is bringing 14 teams from all over to compete. This will be held at the Forks High School.
The other BIG event is our annual QVSD Scholarship Auction that will be aired live on our local radio station and will be held at the Forks Branch of Bank of America. This auction brings in thousands of dollars each year for our graduating seniors and for any Forks graduate that is continuing their education. Besides the auction, the Senior parents will be sponsoring a food booth to raise money for Senior Safe Night.
All great events, some great causes, come on out and enjoy!
In honor of the DVD release, we have made my mother, Shirley Totten's Fresh Apple Cake recipe for our overnight guests. The recipe is as follows:
FRESH APPLE CAKE
2 Cups sugar and 4 cups finely diced apples. Mix these together and add:
1/2 cup vegetable oil, 2 well beaten eggs, 1 cup finely chopped nuts, 2 teaspoons vanilla. Mix these ingredients and add:
2 cups flour, 2 teaspoons cinnamon, 2 teaspoons baking soda, and 1 teaspoon salt.
Mix altogether, pour in a greased 9 x 13 pan and bake at 350 degrees for 45 minutes.
Let cool and frost. I like to use cream cheese frosting, but chocolate is also good!
Enjoy!
