We think the Cullen family was out playing baseball this morning as we had some pretty dramatic thunder storms. I think many home runs were scored! We were glad to see the rain. We haven't had any measurable precipitation for about a month. Even the Hoh Rainforest was getting dusty.
On a different note, we are excited to have had guests from many lands within the last few weeks. We have hosted people from France, Belgium, China, Germany, Spain and the list goes on. We are very fortunate to be surrounded by people of many cultures coming to see our beautiful forests and beaches. A few are still coming to spot vampires and werewolves and we enjoy having them join us, also!

One Square Inch of Silence
We took Pocket Edward up to the Hoh Rainforest to see if we could find "One Square Inch of Silence." CBS TV newsman, Jeff Glore, did a feature piece on silence in the spring of 2012. We had heard about this special spot in the rainforest and tried to direct our guests to the spot, but since we had never been, we weren't quite sure. So, one beautiful, sunny summer afternoon, we took a trip up to the rainforest. It is a bit over 3 miles to get there and we did find it
. You pass some beautiful spots along the way, including Tom Creek Falls. It was a great way to spend the afternoon.
