The Miller Tree Inn is gearing up for St. Patrick's Day and we are all dressed up in green and shamrocks.
Today is a beautiful day here in Forks. It was a little frosty this morning, but the sun is out now and things are warming up a bit. The cold, clear weather has brought the elk down into the surrounding fields. We always enjoy seeing them up close.
March 17 & 18 is the Quillayute Valley School District Scholarship Auction. Last year they raised $130,000 over the weekend and they are hoping to beat that record this year. It is a fun filled weekend with lots of great items coming up for bid including some guided fishing trips by our local guides. All the money raised over the weekend at the auction goes to scholarships for students that graduate from Forks High School. The Senior Parents run the concession stand during the weekend and the money they raise goes to the Senior Safe Night after graduation. We still have rooms available at the Miller Tree Inn over the March 17 & 18 weekend.

Is It Spring?
Sunday was the first day of March and our lawn was mowed yesterday. The camelia bush is starting to bloom, the daffodils are up and the tulips are pushing their leaves through the soil. Yesterday evening, we finally got the primroses planted and the interior of the house is all decorated for St. Patrick's Day. It sure looks like spring is here, but we are not quite sure we should believe it, yet.
The annual scholarship auction will be her in a couple of weeks and we are looking forward to that. It is always a fun weekend.

Scholarship Auction
Friday, March 16, 2012
Tomorrow is not JUST St. Patrick's Day. Tomorrow is the beginning of the Quillayute Valley School District Scholarship Auction. This auction is an annual event in which the community raises $50,000 - $60,000 to use toward scholarships for graduates of Forks High School. Prior to this year, the auction had been held at a local bank. This year for the first time, the auction will take place at Forks High School. The auction will be broadcast by our local radio station.
If you are looking for something to do this weekend, come on over to Forks!

March Is On Its Way!

Monday, February 28, 2011
Yesterday we put away all of the Valentine Decorations and got out the St. Patrick's Day items. We have been wondering if any of the Cullen family or the other Twilight characters have a little Irish in them? Regardless, we are ready for St. Patrick. Everything is green inside, but outside, we are still getting a little sleet, rain and mixed snow and rain.

Happy St. Patrick's Day from Edward

March 17, 2009
Hope you are all wearing your green today! Edward gave the Forks Chamber of Commerce Visitor's Center a green, shamrock shaped wreath to put on the front of Bella's truck to help celebrate the season. Doesn't it look festive?

Edward Has Visitors from Out of the Country

March 13, 2009
Edward has begun to have many spring break visitors. This week he had guests from Texas, Alabama and Utah, as well as some friends from outside the US. He had guests from Australia and a friend from Nova Scotia, Canada, whom he is pictured with here. He is looking forward to greeting many other guests during the next few months. As you can see from the picture, Edward is already set for St. Patrick's Day!
