Red, White and Blue at the Miller Tree Inn

Today begins Memorial Day weekend, the traditional kick off of the summer season.  It means so much more to us than that.  We are very appreciative of the sacrifices that members of the armed services and their families have made on the behalf of our nation and our citizens.  I am proud to say that my Dad served in the US Navy during World War II and the Korean Conflict.  Not a day goes by that we don't miss him.  Thanks, Dad!

The colors will stay up as we celebrate Flag Day on June 14 and the 4th of July, our nation's birthday.  Here in Forks, the 4th is our town's annual big celebration.  There will be a parade, salmon BBQ, Demo Derby, games in the park and fireworks to end the day.  There is always an arts and crafts show, fun run and kids play day during the weekend.  Come on over and help us celebrate!  As of today (May 22) we still have a few rooms left scattered throughout the weekend.

Where Were They From?

Tuesday, March 20, 2012

Over the weekend we had guests from the country represented by this flag. Do you know where they were from?

Scholarship Auction update: The Scholarship Auction held this past weekend raised $59,000 for scholarships for the graduates of Forks High School. The community of Forks, the Scholarship Auction Committee, the students, those who donated items to the auction and those that were bidding are AWESOME! Thanks so much.

Carlisle's Home Country

October 12, 2011

Happy Columbus Day! Well, Carlisle wasn't around to see Columbus off on his adventure to the new world, but he was raised in a different land. This flag represents the country where Carlisle came from.

Also this week we had guests from Slovakia and Israel. With guests from out of country and returning fishermen, we have been having lots of fun here at the Cullen House, aka, Miller Tree Inn.

Twilight Guests From Which Country?

Monday, March 21, 2011

We had guests from the country represented by this flag. What country were they from?

The Quillayute Valley Scholarship Auction wrapped up another successful year last night. We are told that they raised $60, 000 for scholarships for this year's graduating class as well as other continuing college students that had previously graduated from Forks High School.

Pocket Edward is leaving this Wednesday afternoon, March 23 to go on a short Pacific Northwest vacation. Come back to this blog later in the week to see where Pocket Edward has gone.
