Yesterday was a busy day at the Miller Tree Inn. Late in the afternoon, we tried to put up the patriotic red, white and blue decorations that will stay with us for Memorial Day, Flag Day and the 4th of July. As hard as we tried, chaos reigned, and it was not until today that the decorations were completed. Now we are ready for our holiday weekend guests and for the beginning of summer.
Today we have time to reflect and remember what Memorial Day is all about. It is not just a 3 day weekend and the "kick off" for the summer season. It is a day to think about and appreciate the sacrifices that many made for us and for our country. Many gave all that they had and their families continue to suffer. It is humbling and hopefully inspires all of us to live lives worthy of their sacrifice.

New Mugs!
We got our latest shipment of mugs on Friday. I spent the afternoon counting them, washing them and putting them away. We are really excited about our new colors, chocolate and hunter green in the Miller Tree Inn mugs and red for our Cullen House mugs! Thanks Deneen Pottery!
Other good news from the week: The Twilight props that were purchased at the auction in November have arrived safely in Forks and will be unpacked and ready to display. Opening date for the display is May 20! We can't wait.
The Forever Twilight in Forks committee revealed last week that Jackson Rathbone (Jasper Hale) will be coming to the Forever Twilight in Forks weekend September 2017. That is pretty exciting news for us.

Anyone else remember making construction paper cones with handles, picking flowers from the garden to put in the cones and then hanging the flower filled cones on your favorite neighbors door knobs, ringing the bell and running off to hide? If you do, then Happy May Day to you from all of us at the Miller Tree Inn
! We aren't hanging flowers on our guests bedroom doors, but we have plenty of spring flowers for them to look at.
