Flags for Our Guests

Over the years we have been blessed to meet people from all over our country and all over the world.  It is probably the most fun part of our job as innkeepers.  It is great to hear other languages and try to communicate with sign language and smiles.  We are enriched by learning about other cultures and we are constantly reminded that people are mostly the same everywhere and want similar things in life.

This week we have been fortunate to have people from Brazil and China visiting us and they were thrilled to see their flags flying from our front porch to great them.  It is nice to be able to bring a little bit of home to our guests from far away and it is fun for our other guests to test their knowledge about the flags from other countries.

Guests from Afar and Stephenie Meyer Day Update

Tuesday, September 6, 2011

Last night innkeeper, Bill got to open another flag. We have guests visiting from this country. Where are they from?

Today we also learned that the Miller Tree Inn will be the site for picture taking opportunities with some Twilight character look alikes.

We are busily preparing for an influx of Twilight fans this weekend. Preparations are well in hand for the 2011 Stephenie Meyer Day celebration beginning Friday, September 9.

First Time for the Flag From This Country

July 1, 2011

Besides being the first of July, we have another first to report. This is the first time we have had the opportunity to fly this particular flag. Do you know what country it represents? You will also see the Union Jack in the background in honor of our guests from the United Kingdom.

Forks is gearing up for our Old Fashioned 4th of July Celebration. The events start tomorrow with Kiddies Play Day and Moonlight Madness with the downtown merchants. Most everyone will have a special going between 7PM and 11PM tomorrow night.

Though our weather today started with a cloud cover. Currently the sun is out, so vampires will be sparkling! They will definitely need to wait until twilight to take advantage of this weekend's activities.

Where in the World Were These Guests From?

Friday, May 20, 2011

This is first opportunity that we have had to fly this country's flag since we purchased it. Where do you think our Miller Tree Inn Bed and Breakfast guests were from last night?

Where in the World Is This Flag From?

Saturday, May 14, 2011

We had some wonderful guests from the country represented by this flag. Do you know where they were from?

We have had many Twilight guests from all over the United States this past week. They got to see some sunshine and LOTS of rain, too.

Twilight and Auctions and Countries, OH MY!

Monday, March 14, 2011

This past week we had Twilight fans from all over the USA as well as some from other countries. Innkeeper, Bill has been collecting flags from foreign lands and tries to get flags up on our front porch as a welcome to our guests from other countries. Which country is represented by this flag?

On another note, our annual Quillayute Valley Scholarship Auction is coming up on March 19 and 20. This year, auction items will be up for bid at the live auction at Bank of America AND they will be up on Facebook and a special auction website. Check back later this week for links to those sites or better yet, come over and stay with us. We still have rooms over the weekend and the auction is great fun. Come support our Forks High School graduates.
