March Is On Its Way!

Monday, February 28, 2011

Yesterday we put away all of the Valentine Decorations and got out the St. Patrick's Day items. We have been wondering if any of the Cullen family or the other Twilight characters have a little Irish in them? Regardless, we are ready for St. Patrick. Everything is green inside, but outside, we are still getting a little sleet, rain and mixed snow and rain.

Happy President's Day

February 21, 2011

We are happy to have had so many guests and visitors in Forks over the President's Day holiday. Many came by to take pictures and we had lots of great guests. The weekend was sunny and cold and didn't start to rain until this afternoon.

In honor of President's Day, Pocket Edward helped the innkeepers make an angel food cake with a cherry cream cheese glaze. This time, we purchased our cake from Forks Outfitters. Then we mixed up a glaze of about 1/4 cup softened cream cheese, 8 maraschino cherries diced, a little juice from the cherries and powdered sugar to taste. Then we put the glaze on the top of the cake and let it drizzle down. Can't wait for dessert time!

Pocket Edward goes to Camano Island

Tuesday, February 15, 2011

Pocket Edward took the innkeepers over to Camano Island to celebrate a birthday. It was beautiful, but cold. We all took a nice walk along a beach and saw some eagles.

This week, we are preparing for a busy President's Day weekend. As of this morning, there are still a few rooms available.

Pocket Edward Helps Put New Flooring in the Elk View Room

February 8, 2011

Sunday night the innkeepers and Pocket Edward moved all of the furniture and things out of the Elk View room. Yesterday and today, the flooring guys worked with Pocket Edward to put new hardwood floors in the room. We think they look really pretty! Good job, Pocket Edward!

It is February in the "Twilight" Zone!

February 1, 2011

Tomorrow, Punxatawney Phil the ground hog will help us decide if there will be 6 more weeks of winter or if spring is just around the corner. We aren't sure what will happen on the east coast with the official ground hog, but in Forks, there are signs of spring everywhere. We have primroses and crocus coming up in the yard and a bouquet of pussy willows on Edward's practice piano. There are still rooms available for the weekends just before and just after Valentine's Day. We would love to have you join us at the Cullen House!
